Class - Beginning Knitting, 2 Day Class
Beginners Knitting Class
Learn to knit in this 2 day class geared to beginners.
Students will end the class having made a set of three dishcloths (Cotton yarn). Each dishcloth will explore a different stitch pattern. There will be opportunities to practice color changes as well.
Summary of skills you will learn:
• Overview of basic yarn and needle types
• Casting on and off
• A variety of basic stitches, including knit, purl and more
• How to change yarn colors
• Finishing projects - weaving in ends, when/how to block
- Class is for students ages 12 and up
- Max number of students is 10
Two, 2-hour sessions - one week apart.
There will be light homework between classes!
Registration Fee - $85
Materials Fee - $15 materials fee (yarn, needles, pattern) Paid directly to the teacher on the day of class
Two Sessions - you must be able to attend both classes
Sundays 1:00 pm -3:00 pm -- July 30 and Aug 6
About the Instructor:
Sonja is a talented knitter and crocheter. Under her handmade business name, Occassions by SonjaBegonia, she makes custom dog sweaters, beautiful dish cloths, and charming toy animals. She also does embroidery. Her work is for sale at Local Goods Chicago, on etsy, and at various art fairs throughout the city
