Volunteers Needed for 2018 Yarnbomb!
Please join us for our third annual 'yarnbomb'! The Devon Avenue Art Project is sponsored by Local Goods Chicago and talented, generous neighbors! Since 2016 we have decorated the trees in front of Local Goods Chicago and other local business on the northside of Devon avenue. Our goal is to create community and beauty! Last year we did the entire north side of Devon from the train station to Starbucks!
This year we are starting a little bit later because of the Devon Avenue construction project. We hope to install prior to the 4th of July parade.
Our projects have used knitted, crocheted, sewn, felted, and pom pom flowers in general. You do not need any special skills to contribute to this project.
HOW IT WORKS
We get together at Local Goods Chicago to make a plan, then we all work on our own to create the material needed for the project Some of the members only worked in the 'making' part. Other members worked on every phase.
Typically we do the following:
You can participate in one or all of these phases of the project. The planning phase needs to get underway, so we are hoping that a few of you might join in and help us design the project.
If you would like to participate or have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org
or you can join our facebook group
We love Chicago just like you! To celebrate Chicago's 181st birthday this year we are running an Instagram contest. There is still time to participate and win a $25 gift card to Local Goods Chicago. Just show a picture of something you love in Chicago and follow the tagging and hashtag instructions
Here are a few of the entries from the contest.
